Ancelotti and his impression after qualifying for Real Madrid: “I’ve suffered a lot”

Despite losing (3-2) in the second leg at the Santiago Bernabéu, real Madrid surpassed on aggregate (5-4) Chelsea and qualified for the semifinals of the UEFA Champions League. In this regard, the technical director of the ‘White House’, Carlo Ancelotti, highlighted the attitude of his coaches for reacting in the first instance, to force the extra time and then, to get the second goal.

“A lot of suffering, we were 0-2 without deserving it, the team did well. I have suffered a lot. We weren’t hungry to score, we didn’t need it, but for me the 0-2 was not deserved. There we went down a bit, we worried, the 0-3 freed the team and we gave it our all”, declared for Movistar Plus.

“We have to be proud of what we did, we played a very tough round of 16 with PSG, now Chelsea are in the quarterfinals, and a semifinal is coming in which we are happy”added the DT who also congratulated Villarreal for his pass to the next instance.

In the same way, he analyzed the complementary stage and highlighted the encouragement of the fans. “We weren’t hungry enough to score goals in the second half, but the game was good. After the 0-2 the team had a psychological downturn, but the magic of this stadium helps the players and the team a lot to never give up. I am very happy to reach the semi-finals. Suffering, but the more you suffer, the happier I am.” he explained, but this time during the press conference.

On the other hand, the Italian highlighted the performance of Rodrygo who scored Real Madrid’s first goal. “When he enters the game he makes the difference. He has done it many times. Also against PSG. He is a young, important player who needs time to get on board even better, but I am satisfied with him”. he added.
