The French Football Federation put a stop and gave a measure that will give what to talk about throughout the world. Ten days have passed since incidents occurred in the party for the French Cup, between Paris FC and the Olympique de Lyon. Given this, this Monday the Disciplinary Committee of the FFF met and they have determined that both teams are eliminated from the tournament, after the irresponsible acts carried out by both hobbies at halftime of the duel.
Likewise, with this new decision, the game will not be played again despite the fact that it was suspended at halftime with the result of a tie at 1. At that time, the altercations between the ‘Ultras’ of both squads began which, finally, were withdrawn from the contest.
In the same way, Lyon takes as a punishment the closure of its stands dedicated to the visiting fans until the end of the season, both in the FFF and LFP competitions, the pardon of the next edition of the French Cup, a fine of 52,000 euros and a reimbursement of all expenses related to the repair of the damaged seats in the Charléty venue.
Paris FC, for its part, also received a fine but of a lesser amount and punishment than its opponent. The citizens of the capital will have to pay 10,000 euros and will not be able to play the next 5 matches as local.
What happened in the first leg between Paris FC and Lyon?
The match for the 32nd Final of the French Cup between Paris FC vs. Lyon, played at the Stade Charléty in Paris, was interrupted by incidents in the stands shortly after the start of the second half. During the break, the fans of the visiting team threw several flares at the fans of the rival team and members of security. Two tear gas bombs also exploded.
Upon witnessing such events, the police rushed to the scene to try to defuse the problems. However, the situation worsened even more, as the spectators entered the middle of the field to move away on the scene of the incidents, preventing the resumption of the duel.
It should be noted that, minutes later, the authorities were able to calm the situation on the pitch. The Lyon fans returned to their seats, as did those of Paris FC. Of course, the referees met with those in charge of the match to determine the suspension of the match.
