Reconciliation in sight: Villa and the photo that excites with its renovation in Boca

All is peace in Boca Juniors. After the achievement of the Argentina Cup in view of Cordoba workshops, the ‘Xeneize’ footballers live hours of excitement and tranquility, especially since this title helps them to appease the bad spirits after being relegated in the Argentine Professional League and seeing how River Plate was proclaimed champion. One of the happiest is Sebastian Villa, who a few weeks ago was more outside than inside the La Bombonera painting.

It happens that in the celebration of the title of this last Wednesday, the Colombian attacker was celebrating very comfortable with Juan Román Riquelme, vice president of the institution and one of the strong heads in the sports decisions of the club.

This would suggest only one thing: that the problems and rough edges with the directive have been resolved. As it is remembered, Villa was involved in an alleged act of indiscipline with his compatriot Edwin Cardona and the Peruvian Carlos Zambrano. Even after discovering this fact through the newspaper ‘Olé’, Sebastián Battaglia was left in a bad way by wanting to cover them up with a “poisoning”.

The possible departure of the former Deportes Tolima player was always a constant doubt that appeared every time the questions about his commitment to Boca returned. This image with Román, embraced together with the Argentine Cup, would be a sign that his renewal is not as far as it was believed. Or in the worst case, if he left Argentine football, it would be on the best terms.

Another glass for the showcase

Boca Juniors became champion of the Argentine Cup by beating Talleres 5-4 in the penalty shootout, after equaling 0-0 in the 90 minutes of the final played this Wednesday.

For Boca, it was his fourth crowning in the Argentine Cup, after the titles won in 1969, 2012 and 2015, and at the same time, the fifteenth national cup of his rich record, and it is also the first title for the new coach Sebastián Battaglia.

Salvio scored the last penalty for the victory of ‘Xeneize’, while goalkeeper Agustín Rossi saved the decisive penalty from Héctor Fértoli.

Before some 30,000 spectators who attended the very final in Santiago del Estero, Talleres and Boca staged a meeting of less than discreet level, with very few arrivals to the areas, and a more consistent performance by the Cordoba team, while the ‘Xeneize’ it depended almost exclusively on sporadic societies.
