Stopped it with a push: Chelsea player stopped a field invader

An unusual event occurred last Wednesday in the Women’s Champions League, when Chelsea received Juventus by date 5 of the group stage of the contest: a fan decided to invade the playing field in the final minutes, but was stopped by soccer player Sam Kerr, who used his physical strength.

The final five minutes of the match were underway as this young fan broke through the barriers that separate the pitch from the grandstands at London’s Kingsmeadow Stadium. Due to this, the athletes had to stop their activity, waiting for the intervention of the security agents.

After a few moments on the pitch, the invader took out his cell phone and began to take some pictures, while the players from both clubs were uncomfortable. Specifically, Sam Kerr was the most annoyed by what had been happening, which is why she decided to take action.

The 28-year-old forward calculated the route of the young man and decided to stop him abruptly with a push. The blow made the spontaneous end lying on the grass and the scene was celebrated by the other people who had attended this game for the Women’s Champions League.

Finally, the fan managed to escape, but to leave the field and the match could continue normally. However, the referee Sara Persson considered that Sam Kerr should not have acted aggressively and cautioned her with the yellow card.

How did Chelsea vs. Juventus female?

Finally, the match ended with a goalless draw, which leaves everything open in Group A for the last date of the Women’s Champions League. Currently, Chelsea is leading with 11 points, although they will face Wolfsburg (3rd with eight points) in the last date: the ‘Blues’ must not lose to advance. For its part, Juventus also has eight points and must defeat Servette, who did not add until now, to qualify without problems.
