The first of the ‘Rangnick era’: Fred’s terrible goal for Manchester United

With a great assist from Mason Greenwood, Fred placed the first goal of the Manchester United vs. Crystal palace by Premier league. Ralf Rangnick made his right footing debut as a coach for the ‘Red Devils’, reaping his first 1-0 victory in the Premier League on Sunday.

The Brazilian finished exquisitely with his right leg, taking a shot from the balcony of the area towards the far post, in the 77th minute. Rangnick was hired as manager on Monday until the end of the season, but had to wait a week to direct his first game while his work permit was processed.

The German strategist soon left his mark on United’s proposal, with a 4-2-2-2 formation. He also noticed the high pressure and playing with greater intensity compared to what was seen with his predecessor, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer. The team went from highest to lowest until Fred scored his second goal of the season. Shortly before, Brazilian full-back Alex Telles brushed the crossbar with a free kick.

Cristiano Ronaldo started and played the 90 minutes, but without scoring chances. The victory left United in sixth place in the table with 24 points, three behind West Ham fourth. Also on Sunday, Tottenham beat Norwich 3-0 to place fifth in the standings. Lucas Moura, Davinson Sanchez and Son Heung-min scored the goals for the ‘Spurs’.

Patrick Bamford’s goal in the fifth minute of extension rescued Leeds’ 2-2 draw against visiting Brentford. Manchester City leads with 35 points, followed by Liverpool (34) and Chelsea (33).
