To heal the wound left by Madrid: PSG will hire psychologists after the Champions League elimination

real Madrid hit the Champions League in March of this year and left on the way the PSG, a rival who had managed to beat him 1-0 at the Parque de los Príncipes and go ahead on the scoreboard at the Santiago Bernabéu. Karim Benzema scored a hat-trick at the ‘White House’, sentenced the 3-1 and led his team to the quarterfinals of the competition.

The elimination of the maximum continental tournament had meant a heavy blow for Lionel Messi and company. The club plans to make a decisive restructuring in June this year that would include the departure of Mauricio Pochettino from the technical direction and even the hiring of sports psychologists to give the players greater confidence.

As explained L’Equipe, not playing decisive instances of Champions meant a hard blow for the ‘bleus’ players, therefore, the sports management is already considering the possibility of foreign specialists arriving to work with the squad. “They need to heal the wounds caused by Madrid,” they explain.

The decision was made within the breast after the defeat at the Bernabéu. The PSG players were much superior in 150 minutes against the whites, but they were careless for seven minutes and ended up losing the series. This deconcentration, present in all the hecatombs of the team, is what the Qatari leaders want to transform.

The elimination at the hands of Real Madrid adds to one of the many that the blue team has suffered. This 2022 marks the 5th anniversary of the mythical 6-1 at the hands of Barcelona.

The azulgrana team reached the second leg after being thrashed 4-0 at the Parc des Princes, with a brace from Di María and goals from Verratti and Cavani, but at Barça they were clear that they could come back from the tie and they said so Luis Enrique at the press conference prior to the match.

The aforementioned medium highlights that the club currently does not have a psychologist to deal with this type of mental problems. In February of this year, the French institution announced the arrival of Vincent Boutoul, who, although he works at the club, focuses on the women’s U19 team and has no connection with the men’s first team.
