Valencia confirmed that four players from its first squad tested positive

LaLiga Santander is getting more complicated every day due to the new variant of the Omicron coronavirus, which is generating an increase in infections in Europe. Valencia announced this Wednesday that four members of its first team have tested positive in coronavirus (COVID-19) in the detection tests that were practiced on Tuesday to the players after returning from the little vacation they received for Christmas.

The Spanish team carried out PCR tests not only on the players, but also on the technical staff before they return to training, which began this Wednesday, December 29.

As Efe learned from various sources, unlike what happened before the holidays when there were three technicians and the player Omar Alderete infected with coronavirus, this time the four positives are footballers who will, therefore, be low in the match of this Friday against Espanyol.

The entity pointed out that all of them are already “Isolated” and in the process of recovery. In addition to this, within the statement, the club wishes them a speedy recovery.

On the other hand, the newspaper Marca reported that Marcos André and Mouctar Diakhaby were the players who were seen leaving the sports city quickly, before Valencia began training. The other two infected soccer players came out positive for coronavirus during the holidays, which is why they were not present in Paterna.

Now Bordalás will have to see how his squad is armed for the duel – the last of the year – that he will have against Espanyol this December 31 for LaLiga Santander and be waiting for there to be no more cases. It is important to specify that all Valencia staff are vaccinated.
